Edna Walker is a young, augmented tech-head that frequently visits the 20th floors of Megastructure B7.
Shared over a pair of drinks, the local cop Maro and her ex-mercenary contact Fox, discuss the rumours, hearsay and intel caught amongst the conversations and peoples of Megastructure B7 from the comforts of their favourite restaurant and meeting place, The Mystery Deli.
"You know, there's a running theory about where these rumours about the Dragon started," Maro started as she slid her commlink over the table to the lounging Fox, "this 'Face of Dragon' blog, quite a lot of claims and 'reports' there... Some people are saying it's the chrome-back that wanders around a bit."
Such was a thought that seemed to catch Fox's attention - snatching up the commlink to look over the articles left on screen. "... Could be, though pretty sure she's more on your radar than mine - she doesn't come above the fourtieth that I'm aware of, other than sometimes stopping by the clinics for Nera if they're out downstairs. Must have quite a bit of 'ware. What've you got?"
"Few conflicting reports... Name's Harper, Edna. I pulled up her record - she's actually on the database, unlike most that come to this place - but never charged with anything so it's just biometrics and some basic info. Family lives down in Camden, so poorer than sin - but, check this..."
"...That can't be right. Someone's messed your data - no one from Camden is getting into, never the less graduating from a corpo-college. Especially not Camerri's," Fox concluded as he finished one beer - already starting on another as Maro explained.
"Apparently she got a scholarship - mathematics. Something of a prodigy. Either that, or the rumours of Phoenix paying her and her family out for some accident. Either way, she's a smart one. On the radar as a decker, though apparently no net-run port yet; in favour of a cyberspine. There is one curious record though - she was labelled as a potential suspect in that data-heist against TS&A Financial Holdings... Never investigated, though."
"That was a few years ago though, right?"
"Yeah. And by the records then? She was discounted as a suspect because of 'lack of reasonable capability'."
"Still, Maro.. Why are you flagging this up with me? She's not in my floors, so I can't claim to know much about her at all."
"Because she wants to be a merc. It's plain as day. Who becomes a decker, when they've got an easy path into corporate life through college? Who comes here, where she thinks a Dragon's residing, where you reside, with that regularity? Normally I am happy for you to keep your toys - but this one's never fired a gun, near as I can tell."
"... Huh. Guess you are useful sometimes," he raised his drink in cheers, grinning.
"Asshole."
